1. Your right to delete your account

Every Sammes account can be deleted. You do not need to give a reason, contact us for permission, or meet any condition to close it. Deletion is available to every user from inside each of the three apps: Connect, Intel and Social. If you cannot access an app, you can ask us to delete the account by email instead. We deliberately make deletion no harder than sign-up.

SAMMES AS is the controller of your account and the personal data linked to it. This page explains what happens when an account is deleted, what is removed, what we are required to keep, and how to reach us. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more broadly, and our Support page.

Deletion is permanent. Once deletion is complete it cannot be undone. Your profile, credentials and personal content cannot be recovered. If you want to keep a copy of anything, export or save it before you start.

2. Delete from inside an app

You can start deletion from the account or profile settings of any of the three apps. The route is the same in each app; only the labels differ slightly.

Connect

  1. Open Connect and sign in.
  2. Go to Settings, then Account.
  3. Choose Delete account.
  4. Confirm with your password or the sign-in method you use for the account.
  5. Follow the on-screen confirmation. Your request is registered immediately.

Intel

  1. Open Intel and sign in.
  2. Go to Profile, then Account settings.
  3. Choose Delete account.
  4. Confirm your identity with your password or sign-in method.
  5. Confirm the request.

Social

  1. Open Social and sign in.
  2. Go to Profile, then Settings.
  3. Choose Account, then Delete account.
  4. Confirm your identity.
  5. Confirm the request. If you have published content, the app explains what will happen to it before you finish.

A single request covers the whole account. Connect, Intel and Social run on one shared platform behind one identity, so deleting your account deletes it across all three apps at once. There is no way to delete the account in one app and keep it in another, and you do not need to repeat the request in each app.

3. Request deletion on the web

If you cannot sign in, no longer have the app installed, or have lost access to the account, you can ask us to delete it by email.

  • Email [email protected].
  • Use the subject line Account deletion.
  • Include the email address associated with the account. If your account uses a phone number or a third-party sign-in such as Sign in with Apple or Google, tell us which one so that we can locate the correct account.

We may verify your identity before we act, so that nobody else can delete your account. Verification usually means confirming control of the account email address or the linked sign-in method. We will never ask you for your password.

Our target is to complete a verified web deletion request within 30 days of confirming your identity. We will confirm to you once the account has been deleted. If you first ask us to do something else, such as send you a copy of your data, the 30-day period starts once that step is complete.

4. What is deleted

When your account is deleted, we delete or irreversibly anonymise the following categories of personal data:

  • Your profile, including display name, handle, profile picture, biography and contact details.
  • Your credentials and sign-in data, including your password hash, sign-in identifiers and session tokens.
  • Your personal content, meaning the material you created and stored in the account, such as notes, configurations, dashboards and saved items.
  • Account-level settings and preferences.
  • Connected-device associations that belong to the account, where you are the owner of the device.

We also deactivate access to the account, so any device still signed in is signed out and cannot sign back in.

5. What is retained, and for how long

A small amount of data has to be kept after an account is deleted, because the law or a legitimate reason requires it. We keep it only for the reasons below, only for as long as necessary, and only in a form that is restricted to authorised staff.

CategoryWhat is retainedWhyPeriod
Transaction and subscription recordsPurchase and billing records linked to the accountTo meet Norwegian bookkeeping obligations under the Norwegian Bookkeeping Act5 years from the end of the accounting year, as required by law
Fraud and security logsAuthentication, access and abuse-prevention logsTo detect, investigate and prevent fraud, abuse and security incidentsUp to 12 months, then deleted
Dispute and support recordsCorrespondence and records needed to resolve a complaint or disputeTo establish, exercise or defend legal claimsUntil the claim is time-barred under Norwegian law
Aggregated analyticsStatistical data that no longer identifies youTo operate and improve the platformKept only in aggregate form, with no link to you

Retained records are held separately from live accounts, are accessible only to a small number of authorised staff, and are not used for any purpose other than the one stated above.

6. Content already shared on Social

Content you published on Social and shared with other users is treated differently from content stored privately in your account. When your account is deleted:

  • Content that can be linked to you is removed from public view, and your profile is no longer reachable.
  • Where content has been reshared, copied or referenced by other users, copies that sit in their own accounts are not under our control and are not deleted by us. We do remove the original post and the attribution to your profile.
  • Comments and replies you made on other users' content are removed.
  • Content that has been reported, or that is the subject of an open safety or legal investigation, may be retained until that matter is closed.

7. Permanent and irreversible

Deletion is permanent. Once it is complete:

  • You cannot recover the account, your profile, or your content.
  • You cannot restore the same username or handle if another user has claimed it in the meantime.
  • Deleting your Sammes account does not automatically cancel a subscription billed through Apple. App Store subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by Sammes. Cancel the subscription in your Apple ID settings, otherwise Apple may continue to bill you. Deleting the account does remove your access to the subscription benefits.

If you are unsure whether you want to keep anything, take a copy first. Account deletion is not reversible.
